lynda.com is hiring a Business Information Systems Analyst, HR Systems, to provide support for technology solutions in Human Resources (HR). Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Information Systems, the ideal candidate has industry-relevant experience in HR Information Systems (HRIS), is an experienced generalist with broad computer technology skills, has a good understanding of business functions, and is a good communicator with a pleasant, supportive, and customer-focused personality.
Build excellent working relationships with the leaders and staff of the HR department to understand their roles and duties and identify their system requirements and needs.
Research current commercial and open source HRIS to meet identified needs.
Prepare presentations to propose solution(s) to the stakeholders.
Meet with various solution vendors to understand benefits and pricing; utilize negotiation skills to ensure best value.
Consult with stakeholders in multiple departments to completely validate the proposed solution’s technical viability.
Collaborate with other staff as needed to develop and lead solution implementation plans.
Provide some or all of the solution implementation, configuration, and administration as needed.
Act as the solution DBA (database administrator) or arrange for on-demand support from another DBA for solutions that are database-driven.
Act as the primary or secondary system administrator for the solution or arrange for the fulfillment of that role.
Provide cross training on the Solution to other Business Systems Analysts.
Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the business solution, evangelize the solution benefits, and provide support and training on the solution.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Experience and qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years professional experience as a technology systems business analyst
A minimum of 3 years working HR departments or supporting HR systems
Familiar with HRIS and related technologies
Familiar with commercial or open source solutions in various business areas including Finance, Sales, Customer Service, HR, and Facilities
Experience across multiple operating system environments including Windows XP, Mac OS X, and Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or Debian)
Systems administration experience including software installations and package management
Database administration on MySQL or MS SQL.
Systems integration and software scripting using bash, perl, python, ruby
Excellent skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills
Good organizational and planning skills
Track record of individual and team success in a collaborative environment
