The South Shore Bank has an opportunity for an experienced credit underwriter. In this position you will provide credit risk management support for the Small Business loan portfolio through critical analysis of new and current loans and other loan servicing responsibilities. Work closely and assist the Small Business Manager in the overall management of the Small Business portfolio. Promote the overall growth and development of the Small Business Lending Group.
Summary of Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze and underwrite new Small Business loan requests.
Complete annual reviews and renewals of existing Small Business loans through analysis of financial, collateral and other information to confirm compliance with loan covenants and conditions and ensure that customers maintain an acceptable risk profile.
Support Business Development Officers (BDO) with initial assessment of new loan opportunities including meeting with customers as needed.
Assist BDOs and the Small Business Manager with loan closings as needed.
Monitor Small Business Credit Policy Compliance.
Support BDOs in aspects of servicing customers and interact with customers independently to address routine and non-routine service matters or other risk related issues as needed.
Monitor past due loan payments within the Small Business loan portfolio and assist with collection efforts as needed.
Monitor ongoing collection of financial information from existing Small Business loan customers and assist with collection efforts as needed.
Assist the Small Business Manager with resolution efforts related to problem accounts.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field strongly preferred.
Must have a minimum two years Commercial Credit Analysis experience.
