Utilizes a broad understanding of department's operations and objectives to provide financial data, coordination assistance, and customer service to assigned business unit(s). Demonstrates proficiency with intermediate accounting functions and a working knowledge of advanced accounting functions. Ability to apply regulations set forth in 2 CFR Part 230 (also known as OMB Circular A-122) correctly in all related accounting functions, as applicable.
40% Assists with monthly and semi-monthly financial processes and can perform some critical functions for monthly financial reporting. This potentially includes but is not limited to commercial card administration, client billing and receivables, project setup, and indirect rate variance, payroll processing, asset accounting, financial data validation, administration of cost pools, depreciation, amortization and revenue calculation. Demonstrates working knowledge of contract accounting structure and terms.
30% Administers timely audits or reviews of financial activity. This potentially includes but is not limited to general ledger accounts, employee expense reports, ensuring all employees fully comply with established company travel and expense policies, Federal and IRS travel guidelines, employee travel advances and corporate Ccard/commercial card/credit card statements.
15% Performs periodic account reconciliations and investigates any differences. Prepares adjusting entries as needed and works with staff to review and correct any processes that result in reconciling amounts. Performs monthly reconciliations process on assigned accounts. Provides support and assistance to Accounts Payable process if required.
10% Prepares documentation and provides assistance as required for annual private and federal audits.
5% 5. Performs miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management with 2 years relevant work experience or an Associates degree in Accounting with 3+ years in an accounting work environment or 4+ years in accounting work environment.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
