The Sales Assistant – Senior provides day-to-day support to the large group account management and commercial large group sales teams to help achieves their membership, revenue and profit goals. Duties include requesting rates and creating proposals for renewals and sales, responding to needs of customers and brokers and working closely with account services to insure that we are providing exemplary customer service.
Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree plus two years experience in sales/business required.
Excellent analytical skills; strong motivation and excellent communication skills are required; customer service experience preferred.
Solid computer skills with word processing, database management, and spreadsheets;
Must have reliable means of transportation and able to travel. Any Independent Health associate who uses a motor vehicle in the course of their duties representing Independent Health must be compliant with New York State Motor Vehicle laws and must follow the Policy that pertains to Driver’s License Requirements as a condition of employment (See policy provided). This does not apply to any associate whose job description requires them to travel who has access to and intends to use public transportation to accommodate this requirement.
Sales experience and/or health insurance experience preferred; ability to understand and educate on Independent Health products a must.
Good organizational and time management skills; good problem-solving skills and attention to detail a must; NYS Insurance License required (to be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment).
Maintains confidentiality and uses only the minimum amount of protected health information (PHI) necessary to accomplish job related responsibilities.
