Originates residential construction and mortgage loans and participates in related business development activities
Solicits residential construction and first mortgages through contacts with realtors, builders, and developers.
Provides service to customers and prospective customers seeking residential mortgage loans.
Interviews applicants to develop information concerning their needs, desires, and earnings to assist in determining weather the loan will be an acceptable risk; obtains and analyzes pertinent financial and credit data.
Arranges for appraisal of residential properties.
Arranges for and conducts titles searches and obtains necessary document.
May approve or reject loan, referring larger loans to senior officers or loan committee.
Ensures the preparation and processing of forms and legal documents required for residential loans.
Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms.
Negotiates terms and conditions of loans with mortgagors.
Keeps informed of trends and developments in the local real estate market, as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-issued mortgages. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of residential construction and mortgage lending, processes, procedures or other directly related experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Working knowledge of residential construction and/or mortgage lending, processing, credit analysis and mortgage regulations.
Ability to successfully solicit loans.
Requires strong communication skills.
Must have good customer service and PR skills.
Ability to work with various types of computer software, i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
This position requires Federal Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS), in accordance with the SAFE Act.
