CA Technologies Engineer/Service Desk System Administrator (Job Number: 321378)

Description:

CA Technologies Engineer/Service Desk System Administrator to be located in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description: Maintains and administers CA Network and Systems Management, CA Spectrum and eHealth at the Enterprise Level to provide a command wide view of the health of networks and servers at various government locations. Provides dashboard views of CA solutions and development of additional views. Performs system administration, monitoring, and reporting of system reliability, availability, maintainability, capacity, and performance across the enterprise. Monitors the cloud services utilizing the Government identified tools, to include CA Spectrum. Analyzes current software products to ensure optimum performance and utilization. Develops and monitors metrics that are in alignment with service level agreements. Coordinates with technical points of contact at each site to perform discovery of network devices and servers on a routine basis. Coordinates with technical points of contact at each site to install agents and configure Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Distributed Intelligence Architecture settings. Ensures forwarding of message records and actions (MRAs) of critical events at each government location to the Enterprise Event Manager. Monitors all Enterprise Management Infrastructure Components and configures MRAs for notification. Maintains CA Spectrum tools across the Enterprise and Field level, to include patching, upgrading, and routine maintenance of all components. Utilizes the Dynamic Containment Services tool to develop and sustain self-updating Business Process Views at each government location. Performs hardware installations and is knowledgeable in the hardware components and functionality to support the Enterprise Services to include servers, virtual file servers, and storage devices.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

BS Degree and 8 years experience. Will accept 4 more years of experience in lieu of degree.

Position requires that candidate be able to currently possess an active Secret security clearance. Inability to maintain a Secret security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.

IAT Level II, MCITP SA, MCSA, Server+.

Prior hands-on experience customizing and extending out-of-the-box Service Desk functionality.

CA Service Desk training.
Familiarity with JavaScript and HTML.
Experience writing and maintaining SQL queries including multiple-table joins.
8 years of relevant work experience in configuration management or system administration.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams.
Outstanding analytical skills.
Ability to analyze complex situations, learn quickly, and synthesize corresponding solutions, options and action plans.
Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills, including the ability to prepare technical documents that present information clearly, concisely, and in an easily understood format. Additional application specific training may be needed to keep skills updated.

CA Product Certification is a plus
