The Real Estate Services department provides strategic asset management and comprehensive real estate services that align with the support the University's strategic plan and goals. The Real Estate Manager position provides comprehensive real estate management for both owned and leased properties, including acquisitions, leases,lease administration, general management and transaction development/coordination to ensure the highest quality service delivery. The incumbent also ensures the unit's compliance with internal controls and policies to limit risk and exposure. This position is generally responsible for, but not limited to, the following: -Managing various real estate projects and transactions ensuring compliance with university and department policies and procedures to meet deadlines and expectations. -Develops and monitors maintenance budget for Real Estate Foundation-owned properties. -Reconciles lease payments to ensure proper lease administration including renewals, terminations, etc., and monitors lease expiration's to ensure timely renewal/disposition. -Performs high-level financial analyses for leases and other real estate transactions. -Negotiates leases on behalf of the Foundation. -Serves as a liaison for construction activities relative to Foundation properties and projects. -Prepares property briefs and reports. -Analyzes relative market data and proposals. -Manages contracts and ensures supervision for work and services provided to Foundation properties. -Serves in a backup role for AMTdirect system to ensure data integrity, system updates/enhancements, reporting and staff training including abstracting leases.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Several years progressive expereience managing business and real estate actions and analyzing business process for continuous improvement of policies and procedures required. -Demonstrated experience in a progressive work environment providing operational and administrative management in a professional office setting, preferably in real estate operations and management required. -Outstanding organizational skills required. -Excellent written/verbal and organizational skills required with the ability to interact effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and needs. -Proven track record in negotiating and administering real estate and construction contracts is required. -Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite required. -Demonstrated experience in the use or AMTdirect or other similar lease management database is strongly preferred. -Experience with Banner Finance and eVA strongly preferred (or similar equivalent systems). -Ability to plan and coordinate business management, administrative and support services with limited supervision. -High school graduate or equivalent required. College degree in real estate, business, urban planning, or economics strongly preferred. A combination of directly related experience, coursework, training and real estate designations such as CCIM, CPM, RPA and PMP.
