Transmission and Distribution (T&D) – Project Engineer

· Transmission and distribution analysis and network planning

· Transmission and substation siting and land planning
· Sub-soil investigation and earthing systems
· System efficiency and loss reduction programs
We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Project Engineer in the Piscataway, NJ area, with a minimum of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, with a concentration in power and transmission/distribution. Seven plus (7+) years of relevant experience is required. Professional registration is desired.
In this capacity, the Project Engineer will perform project, engineering, and design functions as needed to support and execute the company’s active projects related to modifying and upgrading high voltage power substations and transmission facilities (above and below ground) for major electrical utility companies. Experience and demonstrated knowledge in successfully performing these functions is needed. Familiarity with major electrical utility industry principles and practices is preferred.
The Project Engineer will have dual reporting responsibilities to the Project Manager and the Technical Design Manager, to ensure assigned project tasks are executed successfully while ensuring all established design requirements and standards are followed. A thorough understanding of procedures and company policies is required to achieve established results and deadlines. The position requires performing duties with a great deal of autonomy, and exhibiting sound independent judgment in executing assigned tasks.
Experience and demonstrated knowledge in successfully performing these functions over an extended period is highly desired. Specific knowledge of major electrical utility industry principles and practices is desired. The position requires solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Additional working familiarity with standard computer programs, such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel is necessary. In addition, working knowledge and experience with AutoCad or Microstation design software is a plus.
