Job Posting Summary
Student must be a highly motivated self-starter and be capable of multi-tasking in both a retail and office environment. Cashiering and cash handling experience in a retail environment is required.This position is diverse, spanning the full spectrum of retail operations as well as providing clerical and database support for the bookstore. It requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills who can work well with students, faculty and the general public. The position supports the receiving, stocking and returning of textbooks and merchandise and assists with the bi-annual book Buy Back. This position is responsible for maintaining various facets of the bookstore's textbook database which requires training. Retail and cashiering experience is required. General office and accounting skills are necessary including experience with Microsoft Excel and Word. This position requires intense attention to detail and an individual who upon completion of training is capable of working with minimum supervision and able to follow tasks through to completion.

Special Conditions of Employment
NOTICE: Students must maintain enrollment and regular attendance for a minimum of at least 6 undergraduate credit hours or 6 graduate credit hours to be exempt from FICA (Social Security and Medicare) tax. A credit hour load below the minimum required for full-time student status will require the withholding of FICA tax (non-resident aliens on an appropriate visa who meet student employment criteria will continue to be exempt from FICA regardless of credit hour load). Must also have a GPA of 2.0 or better. While in a student position, a student cannot hold any other type of simultaneous employment with the university.

Prepare memos and other business correspondence using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Assist with the downloading and filling of web orders.
Perform data entry in textbook database and maintain Publishers Reference Files.
Assist with the receiving of invoices in BANNER and the textbook management database.
Assist with inventory and shipping analysis.
Respond to general inquiries over the phone and in store.
Assist customers in a professional manner.
Assist with the receiving, stocking and display of all incoming textbooks and merchandise.
Assist with the returning of textbooks for credit.
Assist with buying of used textbooks during book Buy Back.
Provide clerical support including photocopying, filing and faxing.
Requires some moderate lifting.
Other related duties assigned by supervisor.
