GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Will assist statewide spawning crew with the collection of eggs from wild brood stocks throughout the state.
Capturing wild fish using a variety of fish capture methods including electro-fishing, trap nets, in stream weirs, and gill nets for egg collection.
Transporting eggs to hatchery facilities
Equipment and grounds maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Experienced in the operation of watercraft, 4wd vehicles, pulling trailers, and ATV’s.
Must be able to work well independently and with others.
Waders, uniform, rain gear, and other necessary gear are provided.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position requires extended stays (4-10 days) in campers or primitive camps.
Preference will be given to those with a high school degree plus experience in fish and wildlife resource management, research, or habitat development or college work towards a baccalaureate degree in fishery or wildlife management, ichthyology or other closely related field. Other related training and experience will be considered.
Must have a valid drivers license.
