Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Discovery Project Manager will collaborate with clients to define and execute their collection, processing, review and document production strategy for a discovery project. The DPM is the primary point-of-contact for the client for the life of a project and is responsible for tracking, managing, and communicating progress both internally and to the client. This role is responsible for maintaining client satisfaction during the relationship and success relies heavily on the DPM’s ability to communicate, set, and maintain clear expectations. The DPM needs to have a competent understanding of all aspects of planning and managing discovery projects with a wide variety of requirements and deliverables.

Position Details:
  • Establish and document clear project requirements supporting the success of all internal and client team members
  • Negotiate, define, communicate and manage the scope of the project; notify team of client-requested changes to project scope
  • Create and maintain project schedule, which defines activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements
  • Forecast, track and manage project budgets and invoices
  • Define, negotiate, communicate, implement and monitor quality standards on all project deliverables
  • Plan and manage internal and external project communications (with client and internal team), ensuring effective exchange of project information and deliverables
  • Work with Operations to identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks
  • Maintain project documentation or required changes to the project
  • Successfully manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop strong client relationships through collaborative, consultative service
Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree or minimum 5 years in the litigation support / legal industry
  • Minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional teams within budgetary and schedule constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client expectations and maintain client satisfaction
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to anticipate client needs
  • The ability to confront unexpected problems quickly and effectively
  • Strong teamwork, communication (written and oral), client management, and interpersonal skills
