University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center is a 25-bed, not-for-profit, acute-care facility that has provided quality health care to the families and businesses of Ashtabula and Lake Counties since 1906. This community-based hospital offers comprehensive medical and surgical services and is a federally designated Critical Access Facility, signifying its vital importance to the community in providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. Since joining University Hospitals in
1997, more than $7 million has been invested in program, equipment and facility improvements. In addition, the hospital has immediate access to the centers of excellence at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, as well as the full resources of new technology, financial investment and the ongoing mission to bring the very best medical professionals from the Cleveland area. In addition to General Surgery, Neurology and Urology services, specialty services available at UH Geneva Medical Center include an Intensive Coronary Care Unit, the Center for Comprehensive Pain Management, UH Harrington-McLaughlin Heart & Vascular Institute, Center for Advanced Sleep Medicine, Orthopaedics Center, Center for Women’s Health, and a medical office building with a dedicated team of primary and specialty care physicians on staff.
The APN is responsible for providing clinical leadership through:
- Specialized age specific direct care
- Critical thinking/research
- Administrative Support
Education/Expertise APN I (see below) :
Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis on clinical practice. Skill in interpersonal relationships; competence in providing leadership.
Required Credentials, Licensure or Certification (i.e. CNP, CNS):
- Current R.N. license to practice in Ohio
- Advance practice degree
- Certificate of Authority to Practice
- Professional Certifications as required by OBN- additional certifications preferred
Experience & Knowledge:
Demonstrated competence as a practitioner. Effective oral and written communication skills.
Special Skills & Equipment Knowledge:
A variety of technical patient care devices specific to the clinical area. Computers and selected office equipment.
