This position is located in the Personal Property Section, Traffic Management Branch, Logistics Division, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Must be a qualified typist.

DUTIES:
  • Provide support services relative to the shipment and/or storage of personal property, mobile homes, privately owned vehicles and boats.
  • Coordinate with the JPPSO ( Joint Personal Property Support Office) for contract of commercial carriers.
  • Furnish information of a technical nature to members and/or DOD employees in receipt of component travel orders.
  • Counsel members on their entitlements and ship their personal property.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Typing Requirement: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Please include in your typing speed within your application.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience applying personal property shipment operations and the regulations and procedures governing the shipment or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, mobile home, privately owned vehicles, weapons.
  • Utilize a calculator, electric typewriter, personal computer, fax machine and copier to perform general office tasks.
  • Interpret carrier services, basic agreements and contracts to determine their agreements with the government for services to be rendered on movement and/or storage of personal property.
  • Prioritize and respond to a wide range of interrelated or nonstandard special problems.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position; education must be 4 years above high school in an accredited college or university.
