Job Summary:
NSTAR Global Services is searching for Engineers with a minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical design work for equipment components in the Semiconductor Industry.

Responsibilities
-Lead and/or develop and execute unusually complex projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, and software design; and attend design reviews and provide input to MRS and hardware/software specifications.
-Write system engineering specifications that cover all aspects of product design.
-Identify, perform, coordinate, and/or supervise tests, and provide feedback to product engineering and software on new designs and ongoing engineering improvements.
-Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of unusually complex engineering problems.
-Support System Integration during the assembly and final testing of new product designs.
-Define all external equipment interfaces and insure they are up to date and documented.
-Interface with other divisions to workout design and integration issues.
-Work with vendors to develop new products, including development of key suppliers.
-Develop and assure that the requirements of the Product Development Process are met.
-Keep abreast of new CES's.

Job Specific Knowledge:
-Applies extensive expertise as a generalist or specialist.
-Thorough knowledge of electrical engineering design, troubleshooting to component level, including proficiency in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as analog and digital circuitry, power controls, robotics, and possibly Radio Frequency design
-Safety code proficiency
-Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering design, mechanics, and material science concepts and techniques, including proficiency in solving engineering problems using analytical techniques and engineering knowledge such as thermodynamics, measurement control, heat transfer, stress analysis, Finite Element Analysis, or system integration
-Thorough knowledge of software engineering concepts and techniques
-Working knowledge of CAD tools
-Thorough understanding and utilization of engineering documentation
-Thorough understanding of AMAT products and business issues
-General knowledge of appropriate materials, components and technologies used in the semiconductor equipment industry.

Qualifications:
-System I/O, component integration and interoperation, packaging and layout, SW specifications, project management skills, Electromechanical hands-on experience.
-Strong analytical skills
-Strong oral and written communication skills including specification development
-Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
-Detail oriented
-Strong computer literacy skills
-Exercises mature judgment
-Ability to work in a team; ability to work independently
-Ability to influence other people; ability to act as mentor, lead and/or supervise projects
-Ability to design for serviceability and manufacturability
-Ability to determine production worthiness for products.

Education:
-BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent knowledge) and 8+ years directly related experience
-MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related technical discipline or equivalent knowledge) and 5+ years directly related experience preferred.
-Preferred previous work experience includes: system engineering experience in a development or manufacturing environment, or engineering experience working directly on AMAT products

Other Desired Qualifications:
-Valid Driver’s License
-Ability to pass a background and drug screen.

Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft Windows and Office knowledge
