Kearney is currently seeking a Supervisory Senior Accountant to join our Alexandria, Virginia team. The Supervisory Senior Accountant will help develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction, demonstrate proficiency with accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations, as well as identify and effectively communicate accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Principals. Additional skills and responsibilities are defined below:

Required Skills
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel and assess clients' satisfaction
  • Demonstrate an understanding of accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Direct fieldwork daily
  • Serve as an on-site client resource and support progress against project milestones to help ensure timely delivery of project deliverables
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management
  • Interact with clients to help ensure the information flow from the client to the engagement team is efficient
  • Identify and effectively communicate accounting and auditing matters to Managers and Principals
  • Identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment
  • Supervise and review work performed by other staff and interact with the manager on client and team matters
  • Develop people through effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff.
  • Execute the day-to-day activities of the engagement
  • Utilize technology to share knowledge with team members, develop skills, and continually learn
  • Regularly brief project activities through written and verbal presentations
  • Assist in the creation of proposals and other new business development efforts
Required Experience Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • At least 3-4 years of accounting and auditing experience
  • At least 1 year of Financial reporting experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of USSGL highly desirable
  • CPA candidate or CPA is highly desirable
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. secret level security clearance (requires US Citizenship)
