Loyola University Health System (LUHS) and Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine seeks an exceptional individual to direct the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in this full-time faculty position. The ideal candidate should be a nationally/internationally recognized leader with an established record of academic accomplishment in research, education, and clinical care. The selected candidate will also be committed to growing a division that sets the standards of a 21st Century department of medicine and medical school.

The Division Director provides leadership, direction and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division including clinical service, teaching and research. The thirteen member division includes four that are actively involved in advanced lung disease centers of excellence (CF, ILD, LAM, PH) with clinical trial offerings. LUMC also features a multi-disciplinary premier and high-volume lung transplantation program that has performed more than 700 lung transplants and continues as the regional leader in outcomes and transplant volume.

The candidate is responsible for recruitment and retention of diverse and high qualified faculty. In addition, this role serves as a highly visible and accessible mentor and role model to all division faculty, as well as planning and leading initiatives to facilitate clinical quality, academic and clinical productivity and enhancement of patient satisfaction. The division director works closely with the department leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and hospital administration to create well rounded and efficient clinical services.

A medical degree and specialty board certification are required. A strong track of funded research accomplishments is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be at the rank of Associate or full Professor.
