Provide enterprise strategic direction for regional and global IT infrastructure operations while working with all concerned to maximize service levels while minimizing costs.

Responsible for all aspects of Newmont’s infrastructure support . Serves as the senior IT operations leader and ensures that global operational standards are applicable and implemented in all regions.

Responsible for ensuring that the communications infrastructure is maintained to provide reliable services for the region, including working with service providers and Telco Carriers to ensure that high availability.

Responsible for the ongoing support/ of Newmont Datacenter facilities.

Responsible for Operational Security functions for Newmont’s global network.

Ensures that the logical and physical network is performing as required and works with internal and external service providers to repair and restore service as needed.

Ensures all state, federal (FCC) and national communication licensing and compliance requirements are met.

Develops and manages associated cost budgets, monitors, and develops methods to meet the budgets.

Ensures coordination and support to service providers in relation to configuration management.

Ensures that service providers are carrying out all aspects of contractual obligation for proactive and preventative maintenance of the network.

Ensures that global and regional infrastructure operational documentation is accurate and maintained on a timely basis.

Ensure that all changes to operational systems, whether directly performed, or performed by the Outsource Service Provider, adhere to Newmont standards and procedures, follow SOX-compliant processes, and are fully documented.

Participates in the review of IT Communication and Infrastructure projects and, work with the stakeholders, prepare the necessary scoping documents, including investigation of impact, compliance, cost, and benefits.

Manages the processes for support of the region in global infrastructure projects, including definition of regional requirements

Collaborates with global teams to define policies and is responsible for regional implementation and compliance for policies related to the infrastructure and operations.

Works closely with the Infrastructure and Service Management teams to understand the Network and Telecom environments and regional IT facilities. Provides backup when necessary.

Manage the support of all aspects of Newmont-owned IT facilities as applicable to global and the region, which may include data center, com- rooms, video conferencing, access control, copy/print, HVAC/UPS, cabling, microwave, and related services.

Ensures tracking of related IT issues, coordinates resolution and assists in driving issues to closure.

Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management.

Provides timely follow-through with customers and IT peers on IT service requests and tasks.

Promote and adhere to Newmont’s methodologies, policies, procedures and standards. Maintain a consistent high quality of work across all responsibilities.

Ensure all requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation are met and the required controls are in place and being maintained.

Ensure that Newmont’s policies, standards, procedures and methodologies are adhered to. Insist on and maintain a consistent high quality of work across all monitored and allocated tasks.

Promote and adhere to Newmont Regional Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures. Consistently demonstrate and encourage safe work practices.

Position may require travel to other domestic and international sites.

Position requires current Drivers License.


University Degree or equivalent experience

10-15 years experience in an operational support role with progressive responsibility.

8+ years supervisor/manager leadership in Infrastructure Operations.

Strong mix of operations, business, functional, and technical skills.

Broad knowledge of all technology considerations (performance, scalability, maintainability, deployment, operations, technology infrastructure).

Self-driven senior manager, with a pro-active and strategic vision of IT.

Ability to effectively plan and control projects.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with vendors, subordinates, colleagues, clients and customers at all levels.

Has an overall understanding of the objectives and functions of the company, business units and departments serviced by IT.

Self-driven leader, with a pro-active and strategic vision of IT service delivery.

Posses strong IT knowledge and understanding with deep skills in IT operations, customer relationship management and outsourcing vendor relationship management.

Cost and budget control.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) and Visio.
