Position Summary :

The Sr. Business Solutions serves as their primary point of interaction with ITPS with regard to SAP and Store Operations. This role works closely with all other areas of ITPS to deliver proactive services and reliable technology, and is responsible for overall business user satisfaction. In this role, the associate will work with a diverse group of business partners utilizing a blended mix of business knowledge and the ability to improve business process with technology. The associate will serve as the subject matter expert, and will provide technical leadership, oversight of the existing technology systems and processes, and works with the Engagement Manager in defining new capabilities, process improvements, and new project initiation as required. The associate will serve as a team lead and mentor for other analysts on the team, and will participate in the performance management process.

The position requires a strong working knowledge of store ops and SAP business processes, along with proven technical knowledge that includes programming principles, windows operating systems, SQL, databases, and SAP processes and configuration. This knowledge should include user requirement definition, functional and technical specification creation, management of SAP OSS messages, notes, testing cycles, transport management, release management processes, and root cause analysis.
  • From a Store Ops perspective, the team supports the following business areas: Store Effectiveness, Store Technology, Store Services, Call Center, and Facilities
This team works closely with each of the Business Solutions Engagement teams, Application Development ABAP, Basis, Networking, Intel and other ITPS teams.

Principal Duties:

Customer Engagement and Support
  • Primary point of contact and point of interaction with the business, with responsibility for business area satisfaction
  • Partners and collaborates with the business, and understands their business needs, strategies, and goals
  • Researches, identifies and develops solutions to business challenges and opportunities
  • Analyzes business and user needs, and documents customer specifications
  • Utilizes analytical and problem solving skills to investigate, document, and resolve technology issues in a timely and courteous manner
  • Provides 7x24 support for business operation as required
  • Maintains support documentation with up to date processes and procedures
  • Initiates root cause analysis and lessons learned activities, and incorporates process improvement activities and steps
  • Leverages resources throughout ITPS as appropriate to deliver on business area requirements and requests
Project and Application Lifecycle
  • Provides leadership on projects, and facilitates the definition of project deliverables. Completes project deliverables based on the agreed scope; estimates work effort, duration, resources and requirements; ensures that requirements are being met
  • Defines tracking mechanisms and ensures IT standards and methodology are met; manages business partner expectations and project scope; motivates team members; tracks IT resources; appropriately reports status; delivers quality results. Manages project plans and deliverables. Reports on project progress
  • Leads the Application Health Assessment process with the business, incorporates results in the application lifecycle planning process
Business Process Expertise
  • Understands and facilitates the documenting of business processes and procedures cross-functionally within departments such as Real Estate, Finance, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Store Operations. Leverages this knowledge to identify and recommend process and technical solutions to solve business problems
Technology Research, Selection and Development
  • Participates in initial investigation of software; documents system requirements; helps evaluate technologies and their capabilities; performs gap analysis between business needs and the technology capabilities; designs systems architecture; develops and execute test scripts
  • Facilitates the creation of Request for Proposal’s, technical and functional specification documents
Systems Analysis and Design
  • Facilitates requirements gathering tasks. Analyzes requirements for system enhancements and modifications. Facilitates the documentation of business and technical requirements. Researches and analyzes options; recommends solutions; and writes functional specifications
Develop, Test and Implement
  • Develops solutions based on requirements, creates test scripts and performs unit testing, creates and tests installation scripts and procedures
  • Creates change request documents, works collaboratively with the QA function during integration testing and software release
  • Facilitates planning and execution of appropriate user acceptance testing with business owners
  • Facilitates and participates in execution and planning of robust end-to-end testing
  • Plans and executes large scale deployment of software
  • Coaches team members on development and testing best practices
System Support
  • Serves as technical lead for operational support issues escalated by team members of key business partners. Works with ITPS and outside vendors to resolve technology issues for the business, corporate departments and other ITPS groups. Is responsible for IDOC processing and resolution of IDOC failures
  • Follows defined processes and procedures related to call tracking, code release, user setup, and system configuration
  • Coordinate with other IT departments in the execution of system reboots; maintenance, upgrades/implementations, system and data restorations, mass data changes and system cleanup. Investigate and remedy the root cause of service delivery incidents. Work with software vendors and their resources and provide communication to the Wawa business owners
  • Develops and maintains processes and standard operating procedures as appropriate. Develops support schedules
Communication
  • Maintains project updates, issue resolution documentation and daily support communication with business community. Primary contact on large projects
  • Effectively communicates throughout all levels of the organization and explains technical issues in a way that is clear and concise. Communicates difficult and sensitive information tactfully. Will communicate with all business partners
  • Responsible for the coordination of project status meetings and project updates to business steering committees and IT Leadership
  • Maintains communication between Wawa and vendors pertaining to external projects. Keeps project manager and direct project team updated on project status
Team Development
  • Coaches and mentors other team members; provides constructive suggestions regarding training, work approach, processes and procedures. Actively seeks opportunities for roles which provide career growth for Associates; serves as a resource and knowledge expert to project manager in the project areas
  • Participates in the appraisal process by providing feedback to Engagement Manager for direct report associates
  • Participates and provides input on the hiring and selection process
  • Conducts and coordinates team cross-training
  • Facilitates effective team interaction
