Customer Service Representative 1
MVD/DOSS - Records Section
Location: 1831 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, AZ

Recruitment will be utilized exclusively to fill vacancies in the Records Section for the next 3 months (March through May 2012) or until register is exhausted. If there is a need to announce a position separately from this announcement, you must apply to be considered.

Position Description: To provide courteous, accurate and timely customer service to our internal and external customers consisting of Law Enforcement, Judicial System, defense/prosecutor attorneys, private investigators, Office of Inspector General, Executive Hearing Office and other in state and out of state government entities requesting Motor Vehicle Records for Title and Registration or Driver License documents for subpoena, hearing and investigative purposes. Assist in updating information through process of data entry, filming and/or researching so that it is readily retrievable and accurate when a record is requested. Will research requests and verify the information from the system before providing it to the customer. Information must be accurate according to DPPA law. Customer requests must be verified before disseminating information according to DPPA law. This position will also assist areas within the Records Services Section as needed to address the major backlog that affects the accuracy of the customer's record.

Special Selection Factor: Requires possession of a valid Class D Driver License at the time of appointment and retention of license during the period of employment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Interpreting laws, policies and procedures. MVD Policies and Procedures is plus.
  • Document retrieval process, microfilming, editing, and software, various codes such as courts, disposition, and status.
  • Computer knowledge in reading and retrieving records.
Skill in:
  • Oral communication and listening skills a must.
  • Research and retrieval skills, data entry.
  • Must have general clerical skills with computers, customer service, data entry and use of telephone.
Ability to:
  • Operate various office equipment; such as scanning equipment, computer, printer, fax, copier, IDW-2000 film retrieval and telephone.
Ideal Candidate: Must have one year of general clerical experience working directly with internal and external customers in person and/or telephone, computer skills and data entry skills; be able to type 45 words per minute. Work experience must be detailed on resume to receive appropriate credit.

Note: This position requires possession of a valid Arizona Class D Driver License. Candidates for this position must complete and sign the Driver Form on page 6 of the State of Arizona Application for Employment at the time of interview, which will allow ADOT to obtain the candidate's motor vehicle record (MVR). The most recent 39-month period shown on the MVR will be reviewed in accordance with A.A.C. R2-10-207.12 (H) and (I). The review must show an acceptable driving record prior to any offer of employment being made by ADOT. Employment is contingent upon an acceptable MVR.
