The Corporate Sales Engineer must be multi-disciplined as many of the responsibilities cross departmental boundaries. The Corporate Sales Engineer is considered the North American Sales Engineering team leader and is a senior-level manager reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
The Sales Engineering team is responsible for all technical aspects of the customer relationship, from pre-sales support through successful commercial launch. This highly-visible, customer-facing role will team with the Kaminario Sales organization to ensure customer satisfaction, generate new business and grow existing accounts. The Corporate Sales Engineer will lead and manage the delivery of company sales engineering to our expanding customer base while scaling the organization for growth.
Effectively communicate company and departmental objectives, strategies, and tactics to all team members.
Do what is necessary to ensure your department meets it responsibilities in support of a successful sales cycle.
Communicate with key customers, partners, and executives on significant project issues and milestones.
Define, meet and/or exceed all company goals.
Maintain a high level of knowledge of Kaminario products and services and be able to communicate information to all internal and external audiences.
Effectively work in a dynamic, team environment.
Work with team to continuously innovate, develop, rollout, and maintain new and existing services that ensure customer success by adding value and reducing time-to-market..
Work with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and Documentation teams to review, improve, and rollout new products releases.
Pre-Sales / Sales Support
Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Engineering on establishing effective cross-organizational processes for performing company sales cycle (lead development, pre-sales activities, account management, product development, etc.).
Personally perform sales engineering pre-sales activities when resource constraint is needed, or for high priority accounts when required.
Provide timely and positive resolution of escalated customer issues.
Directly support customers during sales and on-boarding processes.
Interact with company, service partner and client managers.
Technical Support / Communications
Create and deliver presentations on Kaminario solutions, including advanced product concepts, advanced integration proposals, future directions and third party complementary products.
Collaborate with Kaminario Engineering to develop and deploy new hardware technologies.
Prioritize and communicate new features and enhancement requests to Product Marketing and Engineering.
Coordinate the development and delivery of sales collateral, including presentations and demonstrations.
Prepare and present responses to RFP’s and RFI’s as needed.
Must have experienced in all aspects of Customer Solutions.
Manage services team to ensure delivery of cost-effective, timely, accurate, and quality pre- and post-sales services.
Recruit, develop, and retain talented employees.
Identify needs for the organization such as training, infrastructure improvements, etc., to make the team as effective, efficient, motivated and productive as possible.
Minimum 10 years of experience working with in a storage pre-sales roles.
In-depth knowledge with block storage technology.
In-depth knowledge of Enterprise storage environments and concepts.
In-depth knowledge of two or more in the following areas :
Back-up & Recovery
Logical volumes and file systems
Understanding of UNIX, Linux & Windows operating systems.
Understanding of networking and LANs.
Familiarity with major RDBMS is a plus. Types include:

Ability to work under time pressure.
Ability to work non-standard hours when needed.
Must possess excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
Location / Travel
