The Nursing Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Licensed Nurse to assist the nurse in meeting the patient's basic needs of comfort, hygiene and nutrition. He/she assists nurses in obtaining data for assessment as well as assisting the nurse to provide care. Supports the smooth operation of the department by performing tasks associated with general unit organization and orderliness. The Nursing Assistant does not supervise other workers.
Work Schedule : Full time shifts as scheduled; every other weekend
Department Description: Cardiology - 42 beds; acute and post critical care medical and surgical cardiac patients; telemetry monitoring and observation for all hospital telemetry services; Phase II Cardiac Rehab services for inpatients
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with evidence of Nursing Assistant training. Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.
