Wyle is currently recruiting a Junior level System Administrator to support our government customers in our Jacksonville Florida office. This is SA/DBA role is largely responsible for providing operational database services and system administration to the customer set across several platforms and remote locations. The primary responsibilities of this role would include working with the system architect, developers and management to come up with strategic solutions to address the needs of the IT solutions and products and their customers. The candidate will work within a team responsible for installation and maintenance of VM servers, operating system and software installation and patch management in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. The candidate will also support daily system monitoring, verification of the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Education: A Masters degree or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a minimum of (2) two years experience is required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree six (6) years of related work experience is required. Applicable industry certification is a plus.

Experience: Must have Linux/Unix experience in an operational setting. Database integration experience with Cold Fusion and .Net is desired. Experience with website certificates, IIS administration and version management software such as subversion is a plus.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required: Programming skills in a scripting language such as PowerShell, Perl, VBScript, JScript are required. Oracle DBA skills – 11g (Windows/Linux/Unix); MySQL administration skills; Support for oracle on Unix/Intel (Windows); Oracle backup and recovery; Oracle performance and tuning; Oracle installs and upgrades - patching; Oracle proactive monitoring; Oracle database design; Oracle utilities like export/import for complicated database refreshes; Perl skills; SQL Server DBA skills - installing SQL server, backup and recovery.
