The Engineering Technical Leader will develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role, you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope, utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
  • Provide leadership on assigned projects to ensure financial and contractual execution through established company procedures
  • Deliver professional, high quality results to customers
  • Support project proposal development including scope definition, configuration, implementation, tracking and control of projects
  • Estimate budgets and track costs of projects, and is accountable for meeting project budget targets
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project team including coaching and technical direction to meet project deliverables
  • Develop scope-of-work specifications including those of contractors / subcontractors where appropriate
  • Work closely with other disciplines including Business Development, Program Management, Engineering, Production and Sourcing
  • Drive new business development
  • Tailor process and limit scope on project to provide the most cost effective solution to internal and external customers
  • Provide regular updates to project owners
  • Provide regular updates to project team members on schedule and cost performance

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in Engineering

    Desired Characteristics
  • Manage internal and external IPDT members to meet project requirements and deliverables within the planned project cost and schedule
  • Estimation, planning, and successful execution of a full development effort
  • Creation and oversight of project schedules, deliverables and cost objectives
  • Ability to apply managerial and leadership concepts and techniques (plan, execute, direct, coach, mentor, evaluate, and control) in executing individual and team priorities
  • Experience in leading meetings with customers and internal team members
  • Track and Manage project earned value and manpower forecasting
  • Demonstrated competency in using standard project management tools, project plan creation and execution
  • Experience in Military and Commercial Avionics product development
  • Experience and Leadership of Embedded Software Development efforts using C & C++ languages, RTOSs or MBD in a DO-178B Avionics development environment is strongly desired
  • Ability to apply advanced aspects of the engineering field and quality assurance concepts to solve practical business problems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to successfully lead a team in a highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability
  • Capable of developing and writing specifications in an engineering environment
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees Only)
