Description

L-3 Warrior Systems, Insight Technology, a leading designer and manufacturer of laser, night vision, and electro-optic devices is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to pursue a career in a fast-paced company in which new designs become production reality. As a member of our new product development staff, you will become a recognized contributor providing embedded software engineering leadership and technical expertise to support the development of military systems.

Our engineering team is focused on providing innovative solutions that maximize the soldier’s effectiveness on the battlefield. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be involved in many phases of the design process, from concept to prototype integration to production. RESPONSIBILITIES

Developing embedded software (hardware layer to application layer) to meet specific system and hardware requirements

Defining and developing custom hardware/software interfaces

Debugging and integrating software on product hardware, including board bring-up

Working with Systems and Electrical Engineers to develop software requirements

Developing and executing software unit and functional tests

Assisting with design changes or software updates

Working with manufacturing engineering to develop production and calibration software

Documenting software design details

Collaborating with staff and other engineers to meet project milestones

Qualifications

BS or MS in CE/CS/EE required with a minimum of 3 years experience

Hands-on debug skills with JTAG, simulators/emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc., required

Experience with C/C++ (with emphasis on real-time embedded) development required

Experience with microcontroller architecture required

Experience with reading schematics and datasheets required

Experience with embedded systems development on custom hardware desired

Experience with Windows/Linux-based software development tools (CodeWarrior, IAR, GCC, Eclipse)

Experience with OS and MIPS architectures desired

Active security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance is required
