RN Registry I, Must work 4 shifts per month, with 2 days being weekend shifts per month if needed. Mandatory Call. Must work one summer holiday and one winter holiday per year per manager's discretion.
The Bennett Rehabilitation Center (BRC) registered nurse, Registry reports to the director or manager assigned on his/her unit. The registered nurse performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care for assigned patients on the unit during a shift. An interdisciplinary care team approach is used with each patient. The registered nurse is responsible for managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment and for the promotion of collaboration with all members of the health care team.
Follows all established organization and department policies, procedures, objectives and quality assessment. Responsible for assisting in maintaining a safe working environment throughout the organization by adhering to all safety management policies and procedures which reflect the mission and philosophy of the Ascension Health System. Attends all mandatory in-service programs and maintains professional and education requirements.
Graduate from school of professional nursing
Advanced certifications i.e.: ACLS, PALS, CCRN. etc.
Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited school
Registration, Certification and/or Licensure Required
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana
Registration, Certification and/or Licensure Preferred
CRRN-Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse
One year nursing experience
One year nursing experience on acute rehab unit
One year recent nursing experience on med/surg unit
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required
Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills
Must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the principles of growth and development
Over the life span of the patient
Must possess the ability to assess patient data relative to age specific needs and provide
Care as described in the department's policies and procedures
May be exposed to infections and contagious diseases
Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances
Handles emergency or crises situations
Occasional irregular hours
May be exposed to toxic chemicals
Lifts, positions, pushes, transfers patients up to 50 pounds
Lifts supplies and equipment
