  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited undergraduate institution in athletic training or related field
  • Experience in a rehab setting preferred
  • Previous high school outreach experience preferred
  • National Athletic trainers Association Board Certification and appropriate State Licensure/Certification
  • CPR/First Aid certified
Equipment Used/Special Skills Required:
  • Advanced education through college, and nationally recognized certifications for fitness testing, exercise prescription and client coaching
  • Technical knowledge and ability to the management and provision of care of injuries to a physically active person as defined in the state practice act with the direction of a licensed physician
  • Development of injury prevention programs and providing appropriated preventative and devices for the physically active person
  • Provide the asses sent, management, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning of the physically active person whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer
  • Provide treatment through the use of modalities such as mechanical stimulation, heat, cold, light, air, water electricity, sound, massage and the use of therapeutic exercises, reconditioning exercise and fitness programs
  • Able to meet the performance standards set by the policies and procedures of the facility and the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education
Position Summary:
  • The Athletic Trainer will provide "Athletic Training Services" to local high school student athletes
  • Athletic training services will be utilized at the discretion of the high school's Athletic Director under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic trainings practice act
  • Provide athletic training services for all home athletic contests and school sanctioned practices as designated by the athletic director and away varsity football games
  • Act as liaison between family physicians and specialists, the school district, athletes and their parents
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide insurance claim forms for sports injuries treated by a physic an
  • Provide the coaches and athletic director with a list of athletes medically eligible to compete under district and state rules and regulations
  • Assist the athletic director as requested
  • Perform designated tasks related to HealthPark fitness during times when not working directly with the schools as an athletic trainer
  • Perform other duties as assigned
