Working within the Commodities Group, s

upports the sales function of the organization to locate and/or develop markets for Distillers Grain, primarily on a local and regional level.

The local market is defined by a 150-mile radius of any plant.

Responsible for all local plant dry and modified distillers grain truck sales.


Responsible for clearing all local truck dry and modified feed sales


Determines highest netback sales


Communicates margin impact and netback analysis


Works closely with commercial logistics in setting the requirements for all truck movements


Enters contracts into SAP


Develops and presents distillers grain sales strategy to management


Develops and maintains relationships with local feed yards


Responsible for gathering market intelligence and developing forward views on distillers grain market prices

Actively pursue local and regional sales relationships and opportunities, developing and

maintaining an extensive database of both current and potential customers.

Provide working knowledge of feed rations to customers.

Monitor market conditions to assist with accurate pricing of product.

Provide customer feedback for development of new products.

Work with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure company efficiently uses transportation to provide the highest possible netbacks


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

A minimum of 5 years of distiller’s grain and/or agricultural feed sales experience.

Knowledge of feed rations, both nutritionally and economically.

Knowledge of the livestock industry.

Established relationship with feed-buyers is a plus.

Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets as well as having experience with Internet access and using an email system.

Familiarity, specifically, with Microsoft Office (including Outlook) is a plus. Good written and oral communication skills are essential.

Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, in both written and oral form, from groups to include owners, management, trade groups, and customers.
