Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, and in cooperation with other YMCA staff, under the direction of the Group VP, the RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) Director is responsible for the overall management and development of the RBI program to promote interest in baseball, while increasing the self-esteem of disadvantaged children and encouraging kids to stay in school and off the streets. Responsibilities include increasing participation and interest among underserved youth in baseball and softball; encouraging academic participation and achievement; and developing self-esteem in participants and teaching the value of teamwork and personal responsibility
Minimum 18 years of age
Four year college degree or comparable YMCA experience
Two or more years of work experience in sports recreation required
Pre-hire: complete YMCA of Middle TN application for employment, new hire packet and Praesidium Child Abuse Detection / Prevention training
Before first shift: CEO parts 1 and 2 and BBP
Within 30 days of hire: Unity training
This position requires knowledge of budgeting, hiring and supervision, planning and organization, marketing, written and verbal communication skills, human relations, working with volunteers and co-workers and problem solving.

Ensure programs meet current & emerging community needs through innovative program development, evaluation & on-going training of staff.
In-Season Baseball and Softball Operations:
Registration of players
Scheduling of umpires and league games
Recruitment of coaches and volunteers
Coaches and kids clinics
Field maintenance (such as cutting grass and dragging fields); concession stand operation
Equipment and uniform arrangements, pickup and distribution
Trips for kids to local and major league baseball games; trips for straight A students to Disney World (arrangements and attendance)
Arranging and organizing end-of-season banquets for the kids
Monitor and operate within established program budgets.
Help Center prepare and implement a campaign plan for a successful Annual Giving campaign consistent with the annual fund raising plan and Association guidelines. Areas of assistance include volunteer development, training, goal setting, cultivation and solicitation of donors, collections, and coordination of staff roles.
Where needed, work with the Group VP to develop a plan to maintain and increase grant income. Responsibilities include targeting and cultivating funding sources, developing proposals and coordinating reporting.
Participate on the appropriate Association Cabinet(s) as required.
