Be part of or lead a team responsible to provide the sponsor with law enforcement operational capability development expertise designing and developing solutions for mission critical applications. Work in a multi-disciplined, multi-contractor dynamic team environment designing and developing prototypes, proof-of-concept and integrating into existing systems. The candidate will participate in technical exchanges with government sponsors, contractors and vendors and provide technical recommendations as requested. Candidate must have strong technical writing capabilities and be capable of presenting in a variety of forums. Candidate must be capable of engaging with sponsor and provide critical technical insight expected from an FFRDC. The candidate must be capable of collaborating with a variety of technical operational specialists to understand and identify operational requirements and develop solutions. The candidate will leverage technical knowledge of technology development and understanding of systems engineering to develop capabilities to support the sponsor mission. The candidate will research computer system vulnerabilities and exploits and provide detailed briefing and reports to sponsor technical leadership.
BS and 1 year experience or MS
MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and five years relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will be proactive self-starter with excellent organization and leadership skills who works well in a dynamic work environment with multiple priorities. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and ability to deal with ambiguous situations on a consistent basis; perform effectively as a team leader or member; and develop peer relationships. Candidate must be able to work on-site, with government program managers leading different aspects of development efforts, as well as interact with an integrated team of technical peers in a lab environment. The ability to contribute to, and/or lead, multiple tasks simultaneously and to interface with a wide variety of stakeholders at various levels is required. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are desired. Strong problem solving skills.
Experience in test driven development and utilizing testing frameworks
Familiarity and interest in prototyping, testing and reporting
Familiarity with cellular and network engineering.
Understanding of software systems engineering life-cycle; reverse engineering tools, intrustion detection and prevention, computer/network forensics, penetration testing/analysis. Ability to assess oiperational mission requirements and place results of technical studies into a systems engineering context. Ability to support concepts through various phases from design, development, test through to operation, maintenance, and delivery. Ability to develop and apply new technical solutions to advanced challenges.
*This position will require overnight travel up to xx % of the time.
