Job Summary:
This position p

erforms a variety of routine food service duties related to patient and/or cafeteria food service. This position may include but is not limited to the following duties: trayline, proper

storage and delivery of food and supplies, cleaning, food preparation, steamtable, and cashiering.

This position is scheduled as needed.

Essential Duties

:

Maintains sanitation in assigned work area following established procedures and schedule.

Organizes and plans daily activities using the task analysis as a guide.

Anticipates and works ahead as necessary to accommodate the needs of the upcoming shift.

Communicates with co-workers, Coordinator, Manager, Director and others as necessary regarding the work of the department.

Maintains equipment and work area as necessary throughout the day.

Completes daily and special cleaning needs as assigned.

Adheres to good sanitation and safety practices.

Reports any maintenance repairs or unsafe conditions to management.

Completes any other maintenance and/or upkeep duties as assigned on the task analysis.

Checks and records temperatures as necessary.

Operates equipment normally found in an institutional cafeteria/kitchen.

Maintains confidentiality in employee/patient/customer related issues.

Keeps up with department communications via Lifeline, bulletin board, meetings, meeting minutes, etc.

Assists customers or co-workers as necessary.

Stocks work station with food and nonfood items.

Work schedule/assignments are subject to change within the department’s requirements with education and when considered competent by the Supervisor.

Education

:

Prefer: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience may substitute for formal education.

Experience

:

The ability to read, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions.

The ability to do simple mathematics.

License/Certification

:

Prep/Cook Food Handlers Permit – Lincoln/Lancaster County Health Department.
