The Emergency Management Coordinator
, under the direction of he Avera McKennan Director of Environmental Safety, is responsible for disaster preparedness on a system-wide basis.This person will develop and oversee system-wide solutions to provide timely and effective emergency preparedness. Major functrions include developing emerbency management plan drsfts, organizing and maintaining emergency repsonse assets, and providing related educational programs.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree in Emergency/Disaster Management or related field is preferred.
One or more years experience in Incident Command Systems for emergency response required.
Two or more years experience in clinical patient care (Paramedic or Registered Nurse) preferred.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
Certification in emergency management or healthcare emergency management is preferred.
Completion of FEMA ICS courses 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 is preferred.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
