The City of Greensboro is seeking a qualified and certified Physician’s Assistant PA to oversee its Occupational Health Clinic. This individual will work under a contract physician to oversee the clinic and supervise an occupational health nurse and office manager. The clinic handles a variety of occupational health duties that include; various shot clinics, pre-placement physicals, drug testing, occupational health testing including hearing and vision, emergency medical care, health screenings, fitness for duty evaluations, consultations with departments on a variety of issues including fitness programs, worker’s compensation, FMLA certifications and general health assessment of the City of Greensboro’s 3000 employees. Consultations with outside physicians and nurse case managers to assist clients are also required. The supervisor will work closely with other staff and departments on accessing the physical condition of the workforce. Normal clinic operations are Mon-Fri, 7-5. Limited evenings and weekends are sometimes needed with advance notice.
This job is Exempt and is not subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Successful completion of a full-accredited educational program for Physician Assistants.
Certified or eligible by the National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA)
Current NC License to practice medical acts
1+ years experience working as a medical professional in a medical setting.
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred
Progressive experience in working at an Occupational Health Clinic, Emergency Room, Family Health Clinic or Orthopedic clinic.
Prior Supervisory experience
Computer skills including electronic medical records, Word, and Excel
Must be able the meet and follow the current Ethics requirements as outlined by the American Academy of Physician Assistants
