FMC Green River, WY is hiring a talented Project Engineer with a background in mechanical, civil or architectural engineering. Are you ready to join a highly- talented team of project engineers in a fast-paced department which provides all plant engineering for the world’s largest trona mine and manufacturing plant of natural soda ash?
  • Participate in multiple, challenging projects from conception to start-up; working with 25+ engineers and designers, who focus on delivering quality design work in a chemical plant
  • Be able to conceptualize, estimate, design, present, manage contractors / resources / budgets, and deliver completed projects
Our Green River, Wyoming plant is the world’s largest trona mine and producer of natural soda ash. Manufacturing a variety of products (soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide), etc. for food and pharmaceuticals, glass, environmental, household products, and more. Our mining and processing facilities are prime examples of our innovative technologies to maintain quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Site engineering resource
  • Project management, including cost accountability
  • Ensure projects comply with regulatory requirements
  • Plant engineering standards
  • Plant equipment standards
  • Compliance with Process safety, ergonomics, MSHA, ISO 9000, environmental agencies, applicable codes and regulatory agencies
  • Ensure projects comply with COS
  • Continuing education
  • Departmental record keeping and databases
  • Participate in development and administration of capital plan
  • Scope capital projects
  • Develop AFEs, including evaluation of project’s economics
  • Project management, including cost accountability
  • Prepares design, drawings & specification documents
  • Prepares bid/request documents, addendums & change orders for procurement phase
  • Direct interface with contractors / capital crew
  • Coordinate and ensure projects comply with regulatory and code requirements
  • Project closure and accounting interface
  • Ensure projects comply with Corporate Operating Standards
  • Support SAP project system for ACD
  • Support ISO 9000 efforts
  • Support Responsible Care program

Required Education:

  • BS Engineering or equivalent academic training; prefer Mechanical, Civil, Architectural


  • Qualifications:

    Required
    • BS Engineering or equivalent academic training; prefer Mechanical, Civil, Architectural
    • Minimum 5 years Project Engineering experience; 7 - 10 plus years preferred
    • Field experience providing project engineering
    • Ability to create and implement Quality Design work
    • Project management

    Preferred
    • Chemical manufacturing experience
    • Piping and pumping experience a plus
