This position is a Trauma System Program Manager at the Department of Public Health and Human Services . We are looking for employees who can help us to provide services to promote healthy people, healthy communities.

Duties: This position serves as a Trauma System Program Manager. This position primarily coordinates trauma system development, facility designation, and data collection/performance. Responsibilities include: 1) Developing clinical protocols and procedures that support the improvement of clinical care; 2) Evaluating changes in rules, laws and standards to determine impact on current procedures; Developing and assuring implementation of state policies, protocols, and guidelines; and 3) Serving as a professional liaison to a variety of stakeholders such as clinicians, hospitals, and health departments to ensure their participation and input are considered in program planning. This position directly supervises two staff.

Competencies: Required for the first day of work:
  • Knowledge of nursing, medications and treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of patients' rights regarding medical treatment.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop and implement solutions.
  • Skill in writing technical or clinical reports.
  • Skill in researching and developing training material and program content.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in public speaking.

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing with the ability to obtain Montana State licensure within 6 months of hire;
  • 2 years of professional nursing experience;
  • 1 year of supervisory experience;
  • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Emergency and trauma-care experience is preferred.
