Performs the receptionist and secretarial duties in the Audiology Department while functioning as the focal communication source. Assists with scheduling patients. Registers & admits all patients & assures that consents are signed. Assists in keeping charts current & preparing charts for clinic. Assists in arranging tests and keeps faxing and filing current. Assumes responsibilities for billing and follow-up with patients regarding accounts and insurances. Assumes ownership for ordering office supplies, maintaining machines and general office neatness. Performs duties according to the Scope of Service for the Audiology Department Including; hearing aid cleaning, minor service, repairs, assisting with purchase orders, mailings and replies to customers. Adheres to and practices the SJMC Corporate Compliance Program and participates in Performance Improvement activities. Responsible for providing customer focused, efficient and professional patient registration and order entry. Inputs data in computer. Coordinates the scheduling of single and multiple complex procedures, clearing roadblocks to access, where exceptions to the scheduling parameters are needed to provide timely scheduling and excellent customer service. Able to obtain all relevant information related to the registration and order entry process. Updates existing patient system information to ensure accuracy of demographic and insurance data. Obtains pre-authorization when needed from payor. Communicates co-pays and deductibles to patients. Researches information .

Must have a minimum of three years experience as an office manager/secretary. Computer literacy
preferred. Must have excellent organizational skills, communication and interpersonal skills, and good
customer service skills. Ability to multi--task under pressure. Willing to learn new tasks related to hearing aids and learning loss. Ability to speak clearly and implement good communication strategies for use with the hearing impaired.
