JOB SUMMARY

To provide continuity of flow by providing clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the medical office staff and patients. Schedules appointments for referrals to specialty offices, and refers to guidelines of health plans that the physicians participate in. Acts as the first point of contact for the office and creates a positive first impression about the practice.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma
  • One year of medical office experience
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others within and outside the organization. Has excellent verbal and telephone communication skills
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes. Working knowledge of computer software must be computer literate. Knowledgeable of referral guidelines of health plans. Knowledgeable in all functions of registration, medical records, cashiering, data entry, insurance verification and scheduling
