Junior Lighting / Energy Controls Systems (Briarcliff Manor, NY)

You will work on development of new concepts, propositions, technologies and demonstrators that bring energy-efficient and green adaptive lighting for buildings and cities to more people than ever before.
Our Lighting Systems and Services team focuses on innovative ways to control and manage indoor and outdoor lighting systems in order to save energy, increase user comfort and safety, and create new opportunities for a system-of-systems that integrates lighting with other applications.
You will apply your controls systems, machine learning, and data analytics techniques with programming skills to systems innovation, for example in design and development of adaptive lighting controls, algorithms, management systems, and services. You will partner with Philips businesses to deliver innovations and validate their performance. You will help build and maintain collaborative relationships with scientific and academic organizations and governmental resources.

Ongoing lighting Research projects include development and demonstration of integrated electric lighting and day-lighting controls and of outdoor adaptive lighting controls, fault detection and diagnostics algorithms, simulation and modeling, and several data analytics and services topics. Candidates applying for this role will require a minimum of an MS degree.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience with:
Skills and experience in some of the following areas would be a plus:
- Application of machine learning, probability theory, stochastic systems, statistical techniques and pattern recognition
- Control systems theory and system modeling
- Programming experience with C/C++ and Matlab, or other related tools
- Design, execution and analysis of experiments
- Multivariate control systems
- Lighting systems
- Setting up experimental systems (software and hardware) and validation of algorithms
