Library Aide (Part-time)
$9.72 per hour
As a Library Aide, you will perform entry-level library work to include shelving and filing books and other library materials. You will retrieve materials for other staff and customers; maintain shelves in orderly and clean condition; and occasionally help at the circulation desk as needed. Library Aides also arrange meeting rooms and assist in opening and closing the building.
Hours typically range from 15 to 25 hours per week with shifts ranging from mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the library.
To qualify you must have a minimum 9 TH Grade education; good written and verbal communication skills; filing and/or sorting skills; good typing and computer skills.
Experience working or volunteering in a library is a plus as well as the ability to sort, shelve, alphabetize, and retrieve materials with minimal supervision.
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, speak and hear. You may also be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
