About the Role:
you are responsible for leading a team of superannuation administrators supporting the Mercer Super Trust fund. In this role you will work closely with the Technical Team Leader and will focus on people aspects of the team’s operations.
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Team Leader manages the day-to-day operations of the team, including monitoring daily workflow and deployment of resources within the team. You will have primary people management responsibility, including all training and development needs. This is a key role in motivating and developing this high performing team, whilst utilising your superannuation expertise. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing specific client relationships either directly with the client or through Mercer’s key relationship managers.
In addition to this some of your responsibilities will include:
Manage all training and development needs for the team and conduct regular one-on-ones
Manage on-time completion of ad hoc projects and regular client tasks in team
Along with Technical Team Leader, manage delivery of annual reviews of funds within team
Facilitate and contribute to team meetings to share knowledge and discuss workflow / resourcing issues
Deputise for the Technical Team Leader when unavailable, or where workload requires
RG 146 Compliant with several years of Corporate Superannuation experience
Prior experience and proven ability to manage staff effectively
Self motivated and deadline driven
Excellent knowledge of superannuation concepts, including benefit design - accumulation and defined benefit, plus insurance arrangements
Excellent knowledge of superannuation legislation and superannuation systems
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisation and planning skills
Good team player
