JOB SUMMARY
Manage and lead a team of Loan Review Officers and Analysts responsible for specific lines of business and/or geographic areas. Directs and oversees the examination and ongoing monitoring activities of the team in order to identify risk rating accuracy, policy compliance and prudent credit risk management practices. Provides continual feedback to the Loan Review Manager regarding existing or emerging risks or issues and will serve as Lead Reviewer for specific reviews/examinations which will encompass activities including proper sample selection, review team composition/logistics, data compilation and analysis, written report generation, as well as communication and interaction with unit management. Percent of travel required estimated between 20-25%.
Operates in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering requirements. Responsible to report any procedure or process that doesn’t meet regulatory requirements including fraud, whether suspected or confirmed, to management. This reporting can be done directly to any member of management, including Human Resources or Corporate Security, or can be reported through Associated’s anonymous Ethics Hotline.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Supervise LR Officer and Analyst work and provide timely and constructive feedback.
Complete timely and thorough business unit loan reviews which include reviewing transactions and credit processes. Review adequacy of and adherence to credit lending processes & policies. Identify process weaknesses and work with management to develop appropriate solutions. Identify opportunities to leverage best practices.
Independently review a sample of loans in order to evaluate strength of the underwriting, portfolio management and documentation processes and controls. Review the loan risk rating for the selected sample and confirm the accuracy of the ratings.
Assess overall portfolio credit quality, identifying trends that could increase repayment risk.
Stay abreast of regulatory issues affecting the business.
Provide timely and clear reporting, communication and resolution of issues and results. Plan and lead meetings with senior management to discuss issues & action plans. Provide a balanced and fair perspective in dealing with business issues and develop action plans.
Participate in and lead special projects such as due diligence efforts, corporate projects and risk management initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or general business or equivalent experience
