Position Summary:
Develops and maintains integrated web sites of unusual complexity, broad scope, and key importance to a major division or principal operating component of the University. Plans functionality and usability standards, formulates design strategies, and participates in the strategic planning of web site goals and objectives. Creates or coordinates the creation of written and graphic content, and logic structure of the sites, in collaboration with a variety of internal and external constituencies at all levels of the organization. Guides, trains, and coordinates the activities of lower level web designers and/or technical staff. Coordinate with immediate supervisor and other LAII professional staff to discuss problems, identify solutions, and develop enhancements and modifications for sites; Organizes and maintains the sites which includes uploading pages to the web sites, creating image links, and updating information on pages and databases; Responsible for maintaining templates and image archives; Provide systems and programming stability; Develops needed editorial graphic layouts for new section or features on the sites; Resolve problems that arise in an expeditious manner; Abide by industry standards, including those related to security: Executes appropriate web programming based upon expected skill set (see Required Skills below); Liaise with UNM Information Technologies as needed to remedy server performance and security concerns; Maintain and produce coherent and detailed documentation for sites; Produce aesthetically appealing and appropriate designs; Work with user support analyst as appropriate. This is an on-call position and is not benefits eligible.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED with 5 to 7 years of directly related experience; directly related, completed degrees from accredited institutions may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of internet operations and functionality Knowledge of a range of web programming software and authoring languages; our site specifications require skills in the following technologies: Linux Apache MySQL PHP/Zend Framework Python Java SOLR indexing Tomcat deployment Drupal 7 XML, XSL, XHTML CSS
