Job Purpose

The Sales Trainer works under the guidance of the Assistant Vice President of the Professional Development Unit in conjunction with internal sales management from all divisions of the company to formulate training programs for new Internal Wholesalers and Business Development Consultants. The Sales Trainer designs, produces and delivers instructional programs including the preparation of written and visual training materials and exams.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Conducts needs assessments with the sales management for the various internal sales desks and confers with Desk Directors and end-users to develop training programs

Maintains a system for updating training manuals such as scripts, presentations and course handouts for training programs and/or presentations

Maintains a system for monitoring training progress and documenting completed training

Provides training expertise to support company objectives and evaluates the overall effectiveness of training programs delivered to Company personnel

Designs and presents instructional programs to Company personnel

Prepares, organizes and maintains training materials and reference library

Locates training facilities and arranges services with outside facilities as necessary

Assists with special departmental projects as necessary


Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Ability to work with managers at various levels to recommend training solutions

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly relay information, both verbal and written, to others

Ability to reason and simplify complex processes

Strong knowledge of the sales process and sales techniques

Strong knowledge of Jackson products and services, to include an in-depth technical understanding for training purposes

Strong technical knowledge of MS applications

Ability to bring individuals with different perspectives to a consensus

Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects

Ability to persuade and motivate

Education and Experience Preferred

Bachelor's degree

3-5 years experience in training/development/delivery (with a preferred emphasis on sales training experience), and industry licenses

Experience in facilitation of groups

Previous public speaking experience
