The Loan Processor is responsible for reviewing loan applications, creating condition checklists, reviewing conditions with borrowers, and clearing conditions. The processor is expected to work within the loan Counselor/Closer team and be available for customer contacts as needed.
The successful individual will leverage their knowledge and experience to:
Utilize technical knowledge of the mortgage industry in unison with specific knowledge of relocation policies and practices to underwrite loan files, collect and review documentation and create loan decisions to ensure the highest level of customer service
Make independent decisions based on interpretations of mortgage lending guidelines to create condition checklists and communicate with borrowers to acquire required conditions
Analyze data and appraisals specific to providing secondary with loans acceptable to the secondary market
Deliver loans, which are in purchasable condition, to the Secondary Department
Submit loans through underwriting systems, underwriters and/or investors for approval
Rely on skills to communicate and interact with agents, underwriters and team to provide key information to borrowers to successfully bring loans to closure
Authority to review and clear conditions and issue commitments
The accomplished individual will possess:
3-5 years processing mortgage loans is required
Excellent ability to communicate with customers, vendors and team members
Strong organizational skills
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
A self-managed style that does not require hands-on management supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills
Flexibility to multi-task and adapt to change
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
The ideal candidate should have:
High school diploma required
Basic mortgage banking courses in underwriting and appraisal required
