Renders professional nursing care to patients within an assigned department in support if medical care and pursuant to objectives and policies of the hospital. Assumes care for a variety of medical/surgical patients who requite monitoring. Is responsible for the delivery of age-appropriate care through the application of assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation. Works within a collaborative effort with other disciplines. Assumes accountability for own nursing actions/judgments. Practices within the scope of the RN as outlined in the SC Nurse Practice Act, recognized standards of care and other regulatory and licensing agencies. Seeks opportunities for self-improvement.
Responsible for managing delivery of quality care to patients in a productive, cost efficient manner and facilitates the efforts of each staff member. May assist in the coordination and supervision of provision of nursing care rendered by other staff members. Will be expected to float to clinical areas as assigned basic on work load requirements and to work flexible hours.
- Education : Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Appropriate state RN licensure.
- Experience : Two years of Med-Surg experience.
- Licensure/certification/registration: Current SC Registered Nurse license/Multi-state license. Current BLS certification. Current ACLS certification or within one year of hire.
- Additional skills required: Successful completion of medication administration test. Successful IV Therapy competency demonstration. Compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements. Cardiac arrhythmia competency.
