The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for an Oral Communications Lab Director. This currently is a one-year position with the possibility of turning into an annual FTE position. The Director will provide support for the Office of the Provost and Dean of the College in running the Oral Communications Lab as well as teach Business Communications or related communications courses subject to the needs of academic departments.
Provides coaching and assistance college-wide for presentations and public speaking. Serves as the advisor to El Cid Toastdawgs and coordinates/ maintains all records. Will be responsible for supervising the Graduate Assistants and aides that help with both evening hours and distance-learning classes. Works to maintain contact and facilitate goodwill with donor of the Oral Communications Lab.
As an instructor for Business Communications and other communications-related classes the director will be required to follow all guidelines, goals and objectives established for the curriculum. Will provide support and encouragement for those using the Oral Communications Lab as well as follow all expectations relating to faculty members of The Citadel School of Business Administration.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
Must have a Master’s degree in Business, Communications or a related field that requires excellent communications skills. Must have demonstrated excellence in public speaking, writing and in teaching/coaching others in public speaking. The successful applicant will have at least five years professional experience in a communications-related field. The applicant should also be proficient with technology.
