The Proposal Coordinator is chiefly responsible for development of proposals to prospective clients requesting specialized benefit services, developmental services, and pilot programs. Prospective clients that generally fall into those categories include: national corporate employers with more than 1,000 employees, unions, hospitals and health systems, and school districts. Generally, the RFPs for these cases include lengthy questionnaires that require the proposal coordinator to respond in-depth on such topics as utilization management, case management, network development and management, pricing, performance guarantees, operational processes, and systems capabilities.
The proposal coordinator is the focal for collection of material from various sources, and for analysis and archiving that is essential to the preparation of proposals, including: RFPs from external sources, the Proposal Information (PI) sheet from Sales, and performance guarantees, stop loss quotations and rates from the financial group. This position is also accountable for maintaining the electronic proposal and questionnaire libraries with current and accurate information. The position supports the department’s proposal specialists with copy writing services for executive summaries and other narrative contained within proposals. Other special projects as assigned by the Manager are also required.
