SUMMARY: Responsible for interviewing, testing, and referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative, professional and management positions. Considerable skill is required in interviewing techniques; thorough knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in the organization, a basic understanding of the organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. Analyzes the information provided on a prospective employee's application form, conducts a personal interview and determines the suitability of the applicant for employment. In cases where an applicant is judged unqualified, has the skills to tactfully inform the applicant.
Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications and skills.
Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.
Develops and maintains network of contracts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.
Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills, and salary requirements, and to provide information about the organization and positions.
Screens and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.
Writes and places job advertising in various media.
Coordinates posting of jobs internally.
Develops and maintains contacts with schools, alumni groups and other public organization to find and attract applications.
Represents the organization at schools, organizations, job fairs presenting employment/training opportunities.
Utilizes internet online recruiting sources/passive searches to identify and recruit candidates.
Consistently and independently follows established safety and infection control procedures.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
Required License, Certification and/or Registration (by Law/Regulation/Hospital): (S)PHR certification preferred.
Required Experience: Minimum of two years prior HR experience of which at least one must have been in healthcare recruitment.
