Job Description:
Under general attorney supervision, provides professional legal support to Western Union Ventures (, WU Mobile, WU Labs), Mergers & Acquisitions, Marketing and IP departments in the form of advanced legal research, drafting legal documents, organizing and managing legal due diligence investigations of potential acquisition targets, advising on pricing and promotions, reviewing marketing material and leading or assisting on special projects. Also may assist in negotiating contracts, agreements or other legal documents. This position may focus on a specific area of the law and be responsible for the design and maintenance of related records and documentation. May delegate tasks to others and/or perform legal tasks delegated by others. Also likely to have direct contact with, and respond directly to business unit clients, outside counsel and vendors. May be involved in helping others develop guidelines, policies or procedures and would have some authority to deviate from existing policies and procedures. May provide recommendations, guidance and training on more advanced subject-matter to various levels of employees.

Unique Qualifications / Skill Sets:
  • A minimum 3-5 years legal experience with a law firm or corporate legal department
  • ABA approved paralegal certificate is highly desirable. An advanced degree with applicable work experience will also be considered
  • Strong research skills
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide analytical and consultative direction
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Capable of routinely working with highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated experience with review of complex legal documents and/or preparation of complex legal responses/documents at a paraprofessional level
