The role of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is to provide “Extraordinary Care” to patients by preparing and administering radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The Nuclear Med Tech will also be responsible for scanning patients to obtain images of various organs or organ systems to obtain diagnostic information for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. Nuclear Medicine Techs perform a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative. They use proper imaging techniques to ensure timely, safe, and high quality diagnostic exams. A successful Nuclear Med Tech exhibits good safety practices and thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation. The Nuclear Med Tech will help to maintain the quality assurance program of the Nuclear Medicine Department. Nuclear Med Techs help to ensure a positive patient experience and truly make a difference to those they serve.

Additional Details: This position will be required to work 1 shift per week in Diagnostic X-Ray in addition to working in Nuclear Medicine.
Shift Details: Will work in Nuclear Medicine on Thursdays and Fridays. Will work in Diagnostic X-Ray on Wednesdays. When working in Nuclear Medicine, shift will be 8:30 am - 4 pm. When working in Diagnostic X-Ray, shifts will vary and may include 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, or 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Minimum Requirements

Board certified in Nuclear Medicine through Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Current Radiology Technologist (RT) License in state of Utah

This position requires verifiable current Healthcare Provider or Professional Rescuer CPR certification. An original card must be verified prior to start date or the job offer will be withdrawn. For additional information regarding CPR requirements please visit our Job Requirements Page .

Preferred Qualifications

Registered with the ARRT as a Radiology Technologist strongly preferred

One or more years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
