JOB SUMMARY:
Manages and coordinates, in collaboration with the Laboratory Medical Director, the complete resources of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at G-CMC.

Assures that daily operational activities support efficient, high-quality clinical laboratory services. Collaborates with and supports GML system laboratory doctoral and technical specialists as required to achieve system-wide quality and standardization goals.

Reports to the Laboratory Medicine Vice President of Operations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated effectiveness in leadership and networking skills (ability to think strategically) (leadership effectiveness competencies).

Demonstrated analytical skills (operational and capital budgets) (organizational effectiveness competencies).

Demonstrated change management skills, project management, and organizational effectiveness.

Demonstrated competence in written and oral communication skills (interpersonal effectiveness).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A. M.A. or M.S. in Medical Technology or one of the biological, physical or chemical sciences from an accredited institution and a minimum of four years of relevant experience acceptable to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, or

B. B.S. or B.A. in Medical Technology or one of the biological, physical or chemical sciences from an accredited institution and a minimum of six years of relevant experience acceptable to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

M.A. or M.S. in Medical TEchnology or a biological science + min 4 yrs relevant experience; B.S. or B.A. in Medical Technology or a biological science + 6 yrs relevant experience

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Independent travel to the sites throughout the system and surrounding communities may be required.
